How do I?

Here are typical questions we are asked - with the answers

FAQsWhat width do the sheets actually cover when lapped?
Agriclad sheets cover one metre when fixed.

How much should each sheet be side lapped?
One corrugation. However, you may want to lap more than this on the last sheet of the run to prevent cutting or to ensure the sheet does not protrude over the end.

How much should the sheets be end lapped by?
Approximately 150mm on the roof and 100mm on the walls.

Do you secure the self drilling screws in the top or lower part of the sheet profile?
The primary fasteners that secure the sheet back to the structure are secured in the lower part, i.e. the trough. A neoprene washer installed under the hex head of the fastener ensures watertightness.
Only the roof sheet side lap stitchers are secured through the top/rib of the profile.

How many fasteners do you use?
Typically, you use 5No. per sheet width at sheet ends and end laps. At intermediate supports you generally use 3No., i.e. one in the first trough, one in the middle and one in the last. Roof side lap stitchers are secured through the crown at centres not exceeding 450mm.

Do I need to stitch wall cladding side laps?
Not normally. However, if the lap is open very slightly it may be worthwhile to install a stitching screw at mid-span between supports.

Can I use a wall profile on the roof?
No. The side lap is not suitable for roof applications and the narrow troughs will struggle to disperse rainwater efficiently.

Can I use a roof profile on the walls?
Yes.

What is the minimum recommended Roof pitch?
6 Degrees

What are the minimum and maximum sheet lengths?
Lengths are produced to your exact requirements. The minimum length is 500mm (there is a surcharge below 1m) and the maximum length is 12m.

Do I choose a Polyester or Plastisol Coating?
The Polyester finish is our premium coating and is the most cost effective solution. It is designed to give good protection in less aggressive environments. Plastisol is commonly used in polluted industrial environments and will offer a superior life expectancy.

How much do the sheets weigh?
Approximately 5.3kg per metre length.
