Fillers & Sealants

Unless specific ventilation requirements are necessary, profiled filler blocks are used to close off the profile corrugations and prevent the ingress of wind driven rain.

FillersThese fillers are profiled to suit the Agriclad sheets and are supplied in metre long strips.
Manufactured from closed cell polyethylene, this material is the most widely used and cost effective option.

Fillers are designated “Large” or “Small” subject to their placement in the profiled sheet.

Large Fillers
Typically used at the ridge filling the cavity created by roof sheet and ridge flashing.

Small Fillers
Typically used at the eaves, positioned over the support steelwork and under the roof sheet to close off the profile ribs. Small fillers are also commonly used to fill the cavity between eaves flashing and the head of the wall cladding sheet.

Where the head of the gable sheets are flashed by the verge flashing, raked “small” fillers strips can be supplied to suit the roof pitch.

Tape Sealant

Butyl strip is the recommended sealant for use on profiled steel cladding projects.
Used within the side and end laps of the roof sheet (not normally necessary on wall cladding) these sealants offer excellent performance when compressed.

Commonly used in 6 x 5mm or 3 x 9mm bead sizes, this sealant is supplied on a roll with paper backing strip for ease of application.
